Rafi: This is Rafi from thefitnessadviser.com. I just wanted to say before we rap up this last part of the interview with Dr. Hauser, that one of the reasons I asked Dr. Hauser to do this interview about prolotherapy and platelet rich plasma therapy is that I’ve gotten both of these treatments for a really bad case of Jumpers Knee and they’ve helped me when nothing else would. You can checkout My Story to see more about that.

The point is that these treatments aren’t yet fully accepted as mainstream, even though thousands of people are seeking out platelet rich plasma therapy and prolotherapy and getting them, and healing. I really respect what Dr. Hauser is doing, in allowing himself to be out there, on the internet, getting interviewed and trying to spread the word about these amazing treatments that can potentially cure a lot of chronic pain problems and injuries. I’m also happy to be able to be a part of getting the word out about these amazing medical treatments to the general public and to the fitness community.

The Mark Sisson Interview – On Fitness, Health, and “Primal Living”

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Mark Sisson is one of the most well known people in the fitness community. He qualified for the 1980 U.S. Olympic Trials only to be sidelined by injuries and forced to retire from marathon running. After he retired from marathon running due to injuries, he began running triathlons (since he could still bike and swim), eventually coming in 4th in the Hawaii Ironman. In 1988, he completely retired from competitive sports to pursue a life of finding natural ways of achieving good health and helping people avoid making the same mistakes that he had made in the past in regards to living healthily.

Mark is a huge proponent of “Primal Living”, or living the way we used to live thousands of years ago. He runs an extremely popular blog called “Mark’s Daily Apple” dedicated to showing people how to live like we used to in the modern world. He is also author of “The Primal Blueprint”, a book dedicated to showing people how to get into peak shape and live healthily by living the way our ancestors did. I managed to land an interview with Mark, and here’s what he had to say:

[Dr. Hauser isn't just a doctor, he's also an athlete. Maybe that's one of the reasons he understands how hard it is to be sidelined by an injury and the importance of getting healed.]

Rafi: Is platelet rich plasma therapy just another type of prolotherapy, or is it something entirely new?

He has also written multiple books, including the national best seller “Prolo Your Pain Away! Curing Chronic Pain with Prolotherapy” and more recently “Prolotherapy: An Alternative to Knee Surgery”, I managed to land an interview with Dr. Hauser, and ask him about soft tissue injuries, prolotherapy and platelet rich plasma therapy or prp. It’s an in-depth three part interview, and this is part one. Here’s what Dr. Hauser had to say:

The Vic Magary Interview: On Fitness, Nutrition, and Training for Results

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Vic Magary is a star in the fitness community. He has served in the military, is a black belt martial artist and personal fitness trainer, and for a time was even a lawyer before he quit to pursue his love of martial arts and fitness.

He is also the owner of Gymjunkies.com, an amazing website devoted to hardcore fitness training. If you haven’t been there, check it out. I was lucky enough to score an interview with Vic and ask him a few questions about nutrition, fitness, and his personal training programs. Here’s what he had to say:

It’s pretty well known that you’re a fitness nut. Was there anything in your childhood that motivated you to get seriously into fitness, or is it something that you got interested in later on?
